- What do I get for my money?
- A rectangle of squares on the grid showing your image, with a link to your website. You are buying a licence to display your ad in that spot, not ownership of the squares or the pixels.
- How much does it cost?
- A single square is £1.25. If you buy 2 or more squares, every square is £1. The price you see before checkout is the price you pay. There are no fees added at the end.
- How long does my ad stay up?
- For as long as buyasquaread.fyi is running. There is no monthly fee and nothing to renew. The only exception is an ad that breaks the house rules later on, for example if the link starts pointing somewhere harmful.
- Who decides whether my ad goes up?
- A person checks every ad before it goes on the grid, usually within a day. No hate, adult content, scams, gambling, vapes or anything illegal. If we can’t accept your ad, you get a full refund.
- How do refunds work?
- If your ad is turned down, we refund the full amount to the card you paid with, automatically. It usually shows within 5 to 10 working days. You don’t need to ask for it.
- What kind of image can I upload?
- A PNG, JPEG or WebP file up to 2 MB. Each square is 20 × 20 pixels, so a 5 × 4 rectangle is 100 × 80 pixels. We resize your image to fit exactly and re-encode it. Animated images and SVGs aren’t accepted.
- Can I choose where my ad goes?
- Yes. You pick any rectangle of free squares. It is first come, first served, so once squares are paid for they are taken.
- Will my link help my search ranking?
- No. Every link on the grid is a paid advert and is marked rel="sponsored", as Google requires. Your ad sends you visitors, not search ranking.
- Can I change my ad after it goes live?
- Not yourself yet. Email us and we’ll help. Any new image or link is checked in the same way as the original.
- What happens to my squares while I’m paying?
- They are held for you for 15 minutes while you upload your ad, and for the whole time the checkout page is open. If you leave without paying, the hold lapses and the squares become free again.
- How long can my title be?
- Up to 80 characters. It appears when people hover over or tap your ad, and in the list of every ad on the grid.
- How do I pay?
- By card through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
